Hello Council on Aging Directors & Friends –
The Florida Senior Center and the State Office of Rural Health are offering a training for workshop leaders in the “A Matter of Balance” Falls Prevention curriculum on Thursday Oct. 6 and Oct. 17 from 9:00-1:00. This is a last minute request for communities to send anyone who would like to learn how to facilitate this valuable, evidence-based workshop for elders in and around Franklin County. Please see information attached for specifics. No experience necessary!!
Once facilitators are trained and certified, Franklin County Home Care will work with them to find, prepare for and present workshops. There is a tremendous need for and interest in this fun, interactive workshop series that is designed to help adults reduce the fear of falling and learn how to be safer, stronger and more stable. However, we need more facilitators in our region.
