On Thursday, February 27, at 7 p.m., there will be a public hearing on proposed by-law changes: Conway Zoning Bylaws – Public Hearing Draft 2-5-14. Please note that italics in the PDF indicates a proposed addition, and anything [underlined and in brackets] is a proposed deletion.
The Planning Board at its February 6th meeting decided that changes to Conway’s Protective Zoning Bylaws, the focus of the February 27th Public Hearing, will address the following: (1) “use table”, (2) “Cottage industries and Home-based businesses”, (3) “solar arrays”, (4) clarification of certain terms and definitions, (5) “siting of Medical marijuana dispensaries”.
The Board wants the public to know that a Public Hearing is not an informational session, but a meeting where the public has the opportunity to respond to proposed changes in Conway’s Protective Zoning Bylaws through expressing opinions and asking questions. This Hearing is required by law, and is preliminary to the proposed changes being placed before the Town for acceptance or rejection at the Annual Meeting in May. Best preparation for participating at the Hearing is to read the most recent draft of the proposed Protective Bylaws, which is posted on the Town’s web site, where changes are indicated with italics and brackets.
The members of the Board will be present at the meeting as will be Peggy Sloan, FRCOG Planner, who has been advisor to the Board, as it has sought to up-date the Protective Bylaws.
Conway’s General and Zoning Bylaws are now available free of charge by visiting the “Forms and Downloads” page.
