HIGHWAY SUPERINTENDENT WORKING ASSISTANT

The Town of Conway seeks an individual to assist the Highway Superintendent in the day to day operations of the Highway Department. This position will provide supervision in a participatory manner of skilled employees working on all phases of construction, maintenance and repair. As assistant to the Superintendent, the Working Assistant is responsible for maintaining and improving efficiency and effectiveness of all departmental operations. Duties performed will include budget development, assignment of personnel and tasks, response to public inquires, and participation in construction, maintenance, repair work and snow removal. Candidates should have some knowledge of automotive and/or engine repair, must be able to lift a minimum of 60lbs, and have current Class B Commercial Driver’s License and related endorsements, a Hoisting Engineer License to operate front-end loader/backhoe, and motor carrier medical examiners certificate. EMERGENCY MANAGER NEEDED

We are looking for one person to fill the position of Emergency Management Director (EMD). An ideal candidate will be able to donate their time and will play an advisory roll with town officials. This individual will make recommendations regarding emergency programs that might assist our community with developing emergency management plans and coordinate emergency planning with local, state, and federal agencies. The EMD will also be asked to advise and make recommendations on available state and federal grants, and to participate in emergency management trainings, workshops, and conferences, as well as evaluate training exercises.
